In order to become a member of the Anglican Mission in America, you must be a clergy licensed for ministry by AMiA or an AMiA-approved jurisdiction, or desire to be ordained in the Anglican Mission. If you are interested in ordination, membership is the first step.

- M2: Initial Meeting with Rector or Bishop regarding Call and Role
- M3: Rector/Bishop submits a Letter of Recommendation to Office of Ecclesiastical Affairs
- M4: Membership Assessment
- M5: Initial phone call between Applicant and Director of Ecclesiastical Affairs
- M6: Coaching/Discernment Call with Ecclesiastical Affairs
- M7: Recommendation by Ecclesiastical Affairs sent to AMiA Leadership Team for vote
- M8: Final decision on membership communicated to Applicant

- A9: Rector submits Reaffirmation of Support to Office of Ecclesiastical Affairs and organizes Local Discernment Team
- A10: Local Discernment Team submits recommendation to Office of Ecclesiastical Affairs. If Role involves a paid position in the local church, church board provides confirmation of financial support for role.

- C1: Candidate confirms willingness to affirm Solemn Declaration and Oath of Canonical Obedience
- C2: Online Background Check
- C3: Personal and Professional Reference Check
- C4: Psychological & Marital Evaluation
- C5: Sexual Misconduct Prevention Training
- C6: Study for and Schedule Exams
- Take Exams (grading takes up to 30 days)
- Notification of Exam Results
- If there is an area of significant weakness, we may ask you to take time to remediate that area and retake that portion of the exam.
- Schedule/Apply for Ordination Service
